Jingyu Zhang

Mentor Of The Year

Accepted by Stanford University

(Stanford 2026)

Jingyu is a senior at Stuyvesant High School, and, while she enjoys taking a variety of courses from Society and Self to Complex Calculus, her passion is for Data Science & Statistics. Her participation in high school programs hosted by Johns Hopkins and NYU gave insight into the value and practicality of data analytics, which she hopes to pursue in college. In school, she competes in regional and national tournaments as an orator on the Speech and Debate Team, and she serves as the Vice President of Stuy's Environmental Club to bring green, sustainable initiatives to her local community. Outside of school, Jingyu interns as an eye technician at a clinic and as a business analyst at Citigroup Technology.

Jingyu is an only child who loves spending her free time with family and friends. She is always down for a badminton match or a bike ride, but a book recommendation or two for the rainy days would also be greatly appreciated. As an ASL learner, she welcomes any tips on communicating in sign.
